Every soldier who holds one of the 24 combat specialties takes the combat standard, whatever their assignment: 11A, 11B, 11C, 11Z, 12A, 12B, 12D, 13A, 13F, 180A, 18A, 18B, 18C, 18D, 18E, 18F, 18Z, 19A, 19C, 19D, 19K, 19Z, 89D and 89E. Army Directive 2026-07 brought the list to 24 by adding 12D, 89D and 89E. Everyone else takes the general standard. Commanders can set the combat standard as a goal for other soldiers but cannot make it their pass or fail line.
