The 2026 Rogue Invitational Strongman & Strongwoman competition takes place on October 23-24 at the P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland. Being widely regarded as one of the most prestigious spectacles in heavy athletics, this year’s contest features an elite roster of 9 elite athletes in the Strongman category and 9 elite athletes in the Strongwoman division. With half of the competition completed, Angelica Jardine stands as the current leader in the women’s division, while Mitchell Hooper claimed a tight lead among the men.
Day One of the competition threw the athletes straight into deep water, challenging their limits across three classic events: the Deadlift Ladder, the Viking Press, and Conan’s Wheel. Once all was done and dusted, the race for the title remained wide open, as both leaders, Mitchell Hooper and Angelica Jardine, are far from safe, since multiple athletes are within just a couple of points of them.

Event Overview
Event One — Deadlift Ladder
The opening event of the 2026 Rogue Invitational Strongman & Strongwoman competition tasked the athletes with completing a Deadlift Ladder. Consequently, the competitors had to lift a series of progressively heavier loaded barbells in rapid succession within a strict time limit. The athletes performed as many reps as possible once they reached the final barbell.
Strongman Results
Martins Licis has been working exceptionally hard to make his way back to the competitive stage but has also been very patient. It has clearly paid off very well, as he won the opening event of the 2026 Rogue Invitational. He was one of three athletes to complete six repetitions, but was the fastest out of all.
The former WSM champion, Rayno Nel, also had a very decent start to the competition, having placed second in the Deadlift Ladder. He was followed closely by Paddy Haynes, who, despite being one of the lightest professional Strongman, showcased incredible strength and endurance.

It was way more than enough to lock up the win and remind everyone why she’s the undisputed deadlift queen.
Angelica Jardine and Jennifer Lyle both put up serious fights, tying for second place with 9 reps each. However, Lyle locked in the quicker time, gaining the edge in the tiebreaker.

Trey utilized his raw power and steadily added reps to his tally, ultimately managing to accomplish his goal and take the 10 points.
Ondřej Fojtů is another powerhouse but is also one of the youngest athletes at the highest level of Strongman. At 24 years old, Ondřej displayed his youthful energy and also managed to reach 15 repetitions.
